Changi airport SIM card or eSIM (SIN): land online
Changi has the MRT station linked directly to Terminals 2 and 3, taxi stands in the arrival areas, and free Wi-Fi while you walk through. With the eSIM installed at home, the phone is online the moment you switch it on.
- SIN
- MRT from Changi Airport station
- Taxis in the arrival areas
- Free Wi-Fi in the terminals

The short answer
A Singapore eSIM is installed at home before you fly and switched on when you land, with data roaming on for the line. At Changi (SIN) the MRT station links to Terminals 2 and 3, trains to the city change at Tanah Merah for the East-West line, and taxis and private hire cars pick up at each terminal.

Where the signal holds
- East-West line to the city
Rail from the terminals
Changi Airport station (CG2) is linked directly to Terminals 2 and 3; city-bound trains change at Tanah Merah (EW4) for the East-West line, or at Expo (CG1) for the Downtown line.
- 4G and 5G
Singapore's four networks
Singtel, StarHub, M1 and SIMBA keep their own mobile and 5G pages. Read the network's own coverage pages for the buildings and routes on your trip.
- Data roaming on
Your eSIM
The eSIM runs on a Singapore network and shows that network's name in your phone's settings. Turn data roaming on for the eSIM line.
Practical notes
- Getting into townFrom Changi Airport station (CG2), take the train to Tanah Merah (EW4) and change to an East-West line train towards the city, or take the train to Expo (CG1/DT35) and change to the Downtown line. First trains leave at 5:31am Monday to Saturday and 5:59am on Sundays and public holidays, and the last connection towards Tuas Link leaves at 11:18pm daily. At the gates, contactless bank cards and mobile wallets work, and stored-value EZ-Link cards can be bought at the airport's stores and at the station.
- Taxis and pickupsTaxi stands sit in the arrival areas of Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 4, and fares are metered, with an airport surcharge on trips from the airport. Private hire cars booked with apps such as Grab use the arrival and ride-hailing pick-up points at each terminal. Taxis and private hire cars stay available around the clock, after the trains stop.
- Getting onlineFree Wi-Fi, #WiFi@Changi, covers the public and transit areas: select the network and open a browser to reach the login page. The eSIM is already in the phone, so it only needs switching on; a SIM card, by contrast, is bought in person, which means a stop after landing.
- PayingThe currency is the Singapore dollar (SGD). Public transport takes contactless bank cards, mobile wallets and stored-value cards, and buses also take cash, with the exact fare needed.
Arrival, step by step
Install the eSIM at home on Wi-Fi before you fly, and keep the line switched off. After landing, turn off airplane mode, switch the eSIM line on, choose it for mobile data and turn on data roaming for that line only. Nothing needs collecting at a counter: the line is already in the phone, and the MRT station and the taxi stands are steps from the arrival halls. If it does not connect, restart the phone once, then work through the checks in the help pages one by one.
