Marina Bay eSIM: online from the promenade to the Gardens
Marina Bay is the waterfront district around the bay: Merlion Park, the Esplanade, Gardens by the Bay and the towers of Marina Bay Sands. With the eSIM on from the airport, the first walk around the water starts on the map.
- 38 hectares of reclaimed land
- MRT: Marina Bay and Bayfront
- Two evening shows

The short answer
A Marina Bay eSIM is installed at home before you fly and switched on when you land, with data roaming on for the line. The bay is 38 hectares of reclaimed land, the MRT reaches it at Marina Bay, Bayfront and Promenade stations, and the evening shows are Garden Rhapsody at the Supertree Grove and Spectra over the water.

Where the signal holds
- 4G and 5G
Singapore's four networks
Singtel, StarHub, M1 and SIMBA keep their own mobile and 5G pages. Read the network's own coverage pages for the buildings and routes on your trip.
- Not measured
The malls and the domes
We have not measured signal inside the malls, the two conservatories or the tunnels between stations. Download your tickets and a map before you go in.
- Data roaming on
Your eSIM
The eSIM runs on a Singapore network and shows that network's name in your phone's settings. Turn data roaming on for the eSIM line.
Practical notes
- Getting thereThe MRT stations closest to the bay are Marina Bay (NS27/CE2/TE20), Bayfront (DT16/CE1), Promenade (CC4/DT15) and Esplanade (CC3). For Gardens by the Bay, alight at Bayfront (CE1/DT16), take Exit B and follow the underground linkway, or alight at Gardens by the Bay station (TE22) and take Exit 1.
- Getting aroundThe Waterfront Promenade runs past Merlion Park, the Esplanade and the Gardens, and the Singapore Flyer rises 165 metres above the ground. In the evening, Garden Rhapsody lights the Supertree Grove at 7.45pm and 8.45pm, and Spectra plays at the Event Plaza at 8pm and 9pm from Sunday to Thursday and at 8pm, 9pm and 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays. The Gardens' outdoor areas open from 5am to 2am daily, and the Supertrees' lights go off at 11.30pm.
- PayingThe currency is the Singapore dollar (SGD), issued by the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Contactless bank cards and mobile wallets work for payments around the city, and public transport also takes EZ-Link cards and the Singapore Tourist Pass.
- When to goSingapore is warm and humid all year. The Meteorological Service Singapore describes two monsoon seasons, the Northeast Monsoon from December to early March and the Southwest Monsoon from June to September, with inter-monsoon months between; rain falls in every month, and the wettest stretch runs from November to January.
Before you go (Marina Bay)
Install the eSIM at home on Wi-Fi and keep the line switched off until you land. Download offline maps and any tickets while you still have Wi-Fi, in case a mall or a conservatory has no signal. On arrival, switch the eSIM line on, choose it for mobile data and turn on data roaming for that line only.
