The short answer

Singapore's country code is +65. From abroad, dial +65 and then the eight-digit number exactly as it is written: Singapore has no area codes and no trunk prefix, so there is no 0 to drop. To call another country from Singapore, dial + on a mobile, or 000 on a landline, then the country code.

  • +65 is the country code; Singapore has no area codes and no trunk prefix, so nothing is dropped.
  • Numbers: eight digits, usually written in two groups of four; mobiles start with 8 or 9, fixed lines with 6.
  • Calling in: +65, then the eight digits as written; calling out: + on a mobile, or 000 on a landline, then the country code.
  • Numbers keep their digits when they move between operators, so the first digit says a line is a mobile, not which network runs it.
  • Emergency: 999 for the police, 995 for fire and ambulance, three-digit codes from the 99 range.
